PLANO, Texas — Plano Police are asking the public’s help locating Vanaja Jaligama, 58, who was reported missing Thursday after leaving her Plano residence for a morning walk and not returning.
According to information released by the Plano Police Department, officers responded to a missing-person report in the 6200 block of Windhaven Parkway on September 17, 2026.
Jaligama reportedly left her residence at approximately 9:30 a.m. for a walk. Of particular concern, she was not wearing shoes when she left.
Family and Police Have Additional Concerns
Jaligama has reportedly been in Plano for only about two months and is still unfamiliar with the surrounding neighborhood.
There is also an urgent medical concern. Police said Jaligama has diabetes, does not have her medication with her, and had not eaten since the previous night.
She is described as approximately 5 feet 1 inch tall and 130 pounds, with dark hair and brown eyes.
At the time she disappeared, Jaligama was wearing a blue saree — the same saree shown in the photograph being circulated by police and the community.
Public Asked to Check and Share
Residents in and around the Windhaven Parkway area are encouraged to remain alert and share the missing-person information, particularly with people in nearby Plano neighborhoods.
Anyone who believes they have seen Jaligama or has information that could help locate her should call 9-1-1 immediately and reference Plano Police incident #2026-187535.
This is a developing missing-person case. Information may change as authorities continue their investigation.
